Sun Studios

So on our way back into Austin, we got to drive back through Memphis and while there we had some Awesome BBQ and decided it would be fun to hit up Sun Studios and it was the coolest place I have ever been in. The history that place holds is crazyh so I made another picture movie about. However this is not as good as the others cause the pics go by to fast, I think, but it gets the point across. I am also going to try and put up the pics seperately so you can check them all out cause a lot of the gear in these pics deserve to be drooled over.

Wow! So I finally got 'em up here... Scroll down for more from the road.

Memphis TN & Huntsville AL

Last night was the first show back on the tour. Huntsville is Red-Neck central! By God! During the opener (some young pup who I cant remember) some guy that was sitting right across from the soundboard, 5 feet away from me, starts booing at the poor guy, saying all kinds of slander. So, some other guy a few rows back starts screamin obscenitys at guy #1. Then guy #1 turns around and starts screamin at guy #2 and callin' his girl a whore and what-not. So guy #2 smashes his bottle on the ground and gets up to start cutting. Guy #1 then returns the favor with a broken bottle on the ground and they just start going at it. No one got cut, but they where throwin punches like nobodys business. It was an extreme Willie moment. After that it was kinda calm and I really didn't have to deal anymore random weird-os. The drive in was really good. 13 hours, so we stopped in Memphis the night before and stayed at a hotel right across from Graceland. Our room was decked out in Elvis gear, with pics all over every wall and weird figurines in the bathroom and sink area. As tiny E would say, "that thing is HUGE..." with memorbilia. We tried to go to Graceland in the morning but it was $25!!! Is old Elvis house really worth that much? I dont know, but I doubt it. Traveling to Biloxi right now looks like we have another 6 hours in the van, so I am going to go ahead and kill some time by putting up some pics of last night, and finally get to the Eureka Springs pics as well. Hope you all enjoy...

Eureka Springs and Dallas Shows

Oh man! Eureka Springs is so AWESOME!!! I love it there. If you ever have the chance , I recommend at least a week-end trip to really soak it all in. Some of the most beautiful countryside and the trees are in full tilt right now with autumn colors screaming at you. We played a little venue which was a nice change, only holding 900 people, called the Auditorium. It was right smack in the middle of the touristy area of Eureka which gives of the vibe of an old Dutch town with thin buildings and walkways that stretch over the streets that lead into small shops on the 2nd floors of buildings. Is that right grammar? We ate lunch at this really quaint Indian restaurant and had their buffet. It was so good, I had to have 2 helpings as did Kayla. The people there remind me a lot like the Austinites I am so used to seeing everyday so it felt like I was home, but in a much prettier environment. The only real story to arise out of Eureka was while I was looking for some Herbal Tea, I was continuously redirected to other shops until finally the last stop was "The Inn-Convenience Store". I had to laugh because it really was becoming an inconvenience to find some stupid tea. As I walked in a dainty gay man was working the counter and was obviously in a very intense conversation on the phone. He put down the phone to help me, when a friend (I assume) of his comes running screaming about his sister being outside. This through him into a whole new trip and he told his friend that he "was on the phone and had no time for dilly dally". Shortly afterwards his sister comes barreling in asking about the bed that was in the back of her truck and what he planned to do with all while he tried handling me and the phone that was a very important phone call. This really sent him into a dizzy and I ended up getting the tea for free cause he didn't want to deal with it anymore! As I walked out I found the sisters truck half on the sidewalk half off with a bed 3 times the size of the truck teetering about. What a town.

Dallas was lame, comparatively, but it was a big venue with lots of acts and lots of people to watch wander around like cattle, so that in itself was cool. Plus, i got to eat some of the best Catering on the tour as of yet. Which is nice when you have been standing all day and the last thing you ate was a McDonald's Mcgriddle nasty-ness at 5 am in the morning. Oh yeah, the other reason why I didn't like Dallas.... I got pulled over twice on the way one of which ended with a ticket. Stupid Oklahoma Police.

Next stop, Memphis TN, tomorrow. Will put up pics in the mean time.

Monroe LA

So the show just got wrapped up a few hours ago here in Monroe, and it was pretty weird night. Half the crowed we learned doesnt even have computers, weird for the 21st century but I guess I am used to city life. (or they are just from the boonies). One lady had all of one tooth and it looked as if it was holding on by the vein, then we got to meet the lady who was like 30, but smoked so many cigs her voice could barely break a whisper. Oh. lest I forget the other crazy lady, who told me that I needed to tell Willie that her last name was Weed and that that was reason enough for me to introduce her... sure, get right on that I did indeed. It wasnt all freaks and weirdos though, lots of nice normal people, but they arent as much fun to talk about!!! So back to the crazies! One guy, my fav of the night, had the look of someone who got into a bar fight every other night and walked with a really crazy look in his eye... and to top it off he had one of those shirts that said, "I know what your problem is, YOUR STOOPID" jsut like that, honest. I almost brought up the irony to him but i figured it would have been lost. Off to Eureka Springs tomorrow waking up at 5 to make sure we get there in time for soundcheck, so this is the end of this entry. Will load up picks of tomights show and some road tomorrow when I get a chance. Also, will throw one up of my co-hort for this leg of the tour, Kayla, as one old man put it tonight before he slapped his wife for taking back, she's REEL PURDY! Man, I will not miss this town at all.
